How to make carbon fiber round tubes

DJT Carbon is a professional manufacturer of carbon fiber products in China. We have 3 techniques to make carbon fiber products, roll wrapping technique (carbon fiber round tubes), compression molding (carbon fiber square tubes or carbon fiber plates and other irregular parts with big quantity), autoclave technique(carbon fiber motorcycle parts and carbon fiber car parts)

Now we introduce you in how to make carbon fiber round tubes by roll wrapping technique.

The prepreg is stored in freezer, then it is taken to the cutting CNC table    

Step 1, Cut prepreg  

The prepreg is cut into patterns with specific fiber orientations.

Step 2, Stick Pattern on mandrel

Spread resin on the mandrels, then stick patterns on mandrels by using electric iron, while tear off the  backing paper or film in the back side of the prepreg.

Step 3, Roll Wrap

 The patterns are rolled into a mandrel to form the size and shape of each tube.

Step 4  Wrap plastic film

Wrap it with a thin plastic film.

Step 5  Hung in oven

High temperature hardens the epoxy resin, form the shape.

Step 6  Extract the mandrel

The mandrel is extracted after curing.

Step 7  Remove plastic film

Step 8  Sand in water

Step 9 Painting
